The Trailer for YA Sensation 'The Miseducation of Cameron Post' Has Been Released

The trailer for The Miseducation of Cameron Post is out and it looks so good. This film is an adaptation of the well received YA novel of the same name by Emily Danforth. The film has already received a high rating on Rotten Tomatoes (which of course means nothing if you're not into that kind of stuff, but is generally a pretty good sign.) It also won the Grand Jury Prize at The Sundance Film Festival.

The story, which is sent in the 90s, follows Cameron (played by Chloë Grace Moretz), who is sent to a conversion therapy camp after being caught kissing another girl. At the religious camp, though, she finds other kids like her (Forrest Goodluck and Sasha Lane) and cultivates a closely knit community of friends.

It is really important that we keep making inclusive movies like this one. Not only do they give a sense of inclusion for people who are trying to come to terms with their identities (also the identities of their children or friends), but it can also help people who don’t have complete understanding of LGBTIQ issues to develop acceptance. What better way to do that than on the big screen?

The film, which is directed by Desiree Akhivan, is set to release August 3rd, 2018.
