Shailene Woodley Won't Be in the Next 'Divergent' Installment

Well, what now?!

Well, folks, it's not good news. Shailene Woodley, who has played the lead in the adaptations for Veronica Roth's Divergent series, has reportedly backed out of the final installment. The final book in the series, Allegiant, was going to be a two part film. The first part, Allegiant, premiered in 2016. However it was announced that the second part will not be a film, but rather a TV movie called Ascendant

WHAT! Yes, the series will end as a TV movie instead of a major motion picture. Shailene Woodley previously announced that she had no interest in a TV movie. At a Vanity Fair event for her upcoming TV show, Big Little Lies, she confirmed "No. I’m not going to be on the television show." Well, what now? Is the series over now that the lead has exited the project?
