Kristian Nairn (AKA Hodor) Not Only Holds the Door, He Rocks the Dance Floor

Hold the door, hold the phone, raise the roof. Game of Thrones star Kristian Nairn is more than a human doorstop, he is also a disc jockey.

"I've always known Kristian as the go-to guy for music advice," co-star Isaac Hempstead Wright says to MTV. "He's not just a gimmicky DJ who's in a show. He's actually a very talented musician."

Along with getting those fantastic acting schools while studying in school, he also picked up his love for music there, having studied both subjects in college. He has played piano since he was 3 years old, which snowballed into guitar, and continued until he is now a DJ.

"I was quite a shy teenager, and I would express myself through my music," says Nairn to MTV. He continued to DJ alongside acting in GoT. He has been dj-ing for several years out of Belfast and is bringing the "Rave of Thrones" party to The Output in Brooklyn.

His mom, who pushed him to do music at such a young age is also the reason why he picked up the part for GoT. She was an avid fan of the books.

He formerly played guitar for the band Daddy’s Little Princess. His repertoire for performance arts doesn’t stop here, as he used to be a drag performance artist as well. You can find his tracks, including one titled Saviour of the Universe.

"I pride myself on feeling free all the time. I go on a little journey in my head when I'm on stage. I'm not one of the DJs who poses for the camera,” the star says. “I'm in a trance. The music takes me to a magical kingdom in my head."
