Stephen King's 'Firestarter' Reboot Gains Acclaimed Director

This reboot looks like it's gonna be fire...

Looks like YET ANOTHER one of Stephen King’s works is being adapted into a film, however this time it is the reboot of Firestarter, the 1980 novel and 1984 movie starring Drew Barrymore. The story follows a young girl with pyrokinetic abilities, which make her highly dangerous and of course highly desired by the US government. The reboot for Universal and Blumhouse has just landed their new director, Faith Akin who will work alongside writer Scott Teems and producer Akiva Goldsman.

Akin has been acclaimed for films such as Soul Kitchen, Goodbye, Berlín and the Golden Globe winner, In the Fade

The release date has yet to be confirmed, but hopefully, the reboot can meet the standard of, or fire past, the original.
