Tina Turner's Second Autobiography Is No Second Hand Emotion

I, for one, am psyched.

Tina Turner has announced her second autobiography, Tina Turner: My Love Story, which will be published by Atria and released in October 2018. Her previous autobiography, I, Tina, came out thirty-two years ago and focused on the horrific domestic violence that ravaged the relationship between the artist and ex-husband Ike. Turner's first autobiography inspired the 1993 biopic What's Love Got to Do With It, which starred Angela Bassett as the icon herself.

According to a statement from the publisher, the book will be co-written with Deborah Davis and Dominik Wichmann and will cover Turner's much healthier marriage with Erwin Bach, whom she married in 2013. The book will also reveal the singer's battle with a previously undisclosed "life-threatening illness". The autobiography will coincide with the singer's 60th year in music and the debut of a musical based on her life, aptly named Tina.
