6 Wildly Famous Authors with Truly Wild Hair

When it comes to a character in your favorite book, you know exactly how to describe them. From the color of their eyes to the single dimple that pops up when they give a toothy smile, you know EVERYTHING. But let me ask you this, can you describe what your favorite author looks like? If not, you’ve come to the right place because I am about to expose you to the looks of your favorite authors, especially their absolutely wild hair.

*Disclaimer: yes, these authors are all men. Female authors, I have deduced from my research, tend to have pretty good hair.

1. Sinclair Lewis

Winner of the Noble Prize in Literature, Lewis wrote satirical novels such as Main Street and Babbitt but he was seriously lacking in the hair department. Check out his serious middle part that would’ve caught the eye of many even in the 1920s!

2. Homer

The author of the legendary works the Odyssey and the Iliad, Homer wrote about the trials and tribulations of ancient Greece. Although I loved reading about the fall of Troy and the Trojan Wars, I really fell for Homer’s long, luscious, and wild curls. His looks would’ve definitely caught the attention of some serious ancient Greek babes.

3. Charles Dickens

One of the most sought of after authors of the Victorian Era, Dickens had hair as wild as his literary visions. Maybe creating icons like the Ghost of Christmas Past was Dickens' way to try and make his hair-do go viral. Too bad the internet didn’t exist back then.

4. Young Stephen King

King's Hair

Stephen King has been declared the “King of Horror” but his looks as a twenty-something made him look like the “Prince of Alarming Hair”. King has been known to criticize Stanley Kubrick’s film adaptation of The Shining but maybe he’s just salty because Jack Nicholson and he had matching hair at the time. @StephenKing lmk sir!

5. Russell Brand

Best known for his hilarious roles in films such as Forgetting Sarah Marshall and his brief marriage to Katy Perry, Brand has had a pretty successful career. Add a couple best-selling books to the mix, you almost forget how crazy his hair actually is. Russell if you’re reading this, you will always be the original crazy haired celebrity in my eyes and will never be replaced by Post Malone.

5. F. Scott Fitzgerald

Fitz and Will Hair Comparison

The author of one of my all-time favorite books The Great Gatsby, Fitzy has not only touched millions of hearts with his words but has also evoked some serious emotions on Twitter with his absolutely wild hair. Some even comparing Fitzy’s hair to Will Farrell’s iconic role as Jacobim Mugatu in the movie Zoolander. What are your thoughts on the Seagull Flogger hair-do on these two men?

Comment below with any authors I missed and their crazy-dos!
